CAVE 14 AJANTA

Cave 14 is a fifth century cave, never completed. Its doorframe
clearly shows that each side of the door was worked separately.
The door is mostly roughed out, and the finishing process left incomplete.
Two beautiful yaksis stand in the corners, but the pilaster-jambs beside
them are only partially carved.

The yaksis themselves stand just past the main door frame,
a possible sign of late date for the door.
